Force = mass x acceleration and don't forget to factor in the fun. This kit studies the Science of Matter and Energy. Through building 36 models and conducting subsequent experiments with the models, you will learn the fundamental laws of mechanical physics. This hands-on approach is both fun and effective because the principles of physics are demonstrated right in front of you. Physics Workshop includes more than 300 building pieces. The full-color 64-page manual presents assembly instructions, experiments and explanations in a richly-illustrated, easy-to-follow manner. 73 Experiments and Activities: Build a windmill, crane, sail car, mars robot, hammer machine, centrifuge, scale and dozens of other models. Experiment with simple machines: gears, levers, screws, inclined planes, pulleys, wheels and axles. Learn and understand the most fundamental physics equations. Read about amazing real-world applications for physics.
Serves to demonstrate Boyle's Law. Shows what happens when gases are subjected to increased pressure. The plastic syringe, with solid wood base and platen, is constructed so that the calibrations denoting interior volume read right side up. As masses of bricks, books, or other heavy objects are increased, the gas in the syringe is compressed to smaller and smaller volume. The kit includes: 1 Syringe Cylinder w/ Cap, 1 Syringe Piston, 1 Base, 1 Platen.

The Intro Kit is ideal for introducing students to the concepts of changing force by levers and pulleys, and the notion of mechanical advantage. The manual describes experiments with three types of levers, single and double pulley systems, and shows the characteristics of each machine. Set includes: 1 lever with centimeter scale, 2 pulleys, 1 spring scale, 2 weight hangers, 1 slotted weight set, 1 base and support rod, 1 support rod with clamp, 2 hook collars, 1 pulley cord, 1 manual and disc.

Students fill one container with water at room temperature and the other with boiling water. A thermometer is placed in each container and the water temperature in both cups read before heat transfer. The metal bar is then immersed in the cups, and students observe heat lost by boiling water and heat gained in the cooler water. Each kit includes: 2 insulated containers; 2 insulated lids with slots; 1 U-shaped aluminum transfer bar; 2 thermometers 20 degrees to 110 degrees. Additional materials required: low-temperature thermometer.
