This colorful teaching model is designed specifically for hands-on use with young children. Made of resilient, non-toxic, EVA foam, the removable pieces stimulate problem-solving skills and develop small motor skills. Model is accompanied by a reproducible activity card containing background information and extension ideas. Teachers can cut out the task card and use it in learning center or as a group activity. This teaching model is designed to introduce students to the "life and times" of the honeybee. It illustrates the major stages of the life cycle, the unique role that bees play in pollination, and the bees extensive social life. Grades K-6.
